How Much Does Christmas Light Installation Cost in Colorado Springs?
Most homes in Colorado Springs and Monument pay $560 to $1,185 for professional Christmas lights, installed, maintained and taken down. Here is what sets your price.

Most homes in Colorado Springs and Monument pay $560 to $1,185 to have Christmas lights designed, installed, maintained through the season and taken down. An average house with about 100 feet of front roofline comes in at $595 to $700, new lights included. The rest of this post shows exactly how that number is built, so you can price your own house before anyone climbs a ladder.
Prices by house size
The biggest factor is how much roofline you want lit. These are our 2026 prices for a front roofline, with new lights you keep, installation, maintenance and takedown included:
| House | Front roofline | Price with new lights | If you own the lights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smaller home | about 70 ft | $560 – $665 | $485 – $570 |
| Average home | about 100 ft | $595 – $700 | $485 – $570 |
| Wide home | about 140 ft | $705 – $830 | $550 – $650 |
| Extra wide home | about 200 ft | $1,010 – $1,185 | $790 – $925 |
The price is a range until we see photos of your roofline. The top of the range is up to 18% higher, to cover details a guess can miss, and we confirm your exact price before any work begins.
What goes into the price
Every quote uses the same rates:
- Hanging: about $3.95 a foot of roofline, with a $485 minimum.
- New lights: about $1.10 a foot. They are yours to keep, so next year costs less.
- Trees: about $210 each.
- Bushes: about $24 each.
- Steep roofs: 25% more, because mountain and A-frame roofs take longer and more care.
Two examples. An average 100-foot home with two lit trees and four bushes comes to $1,110 to $1,320. A wide 140-foot home with one lit tree comes to $915 to $1,085.
Steep roofs cost more
Steep roofs are common in the foothills and up on the Palmer Divide, and they take longer to hang safely. The same house with a steep roof costs about a quarter more:
| Front roofline | Standard roof | Steep roof |
|---|---|---|
| about 100 ft | $595 – $700 | $740 – $875 |
| about 140 ft | $705 – $830 | $885 – $1,040 |
| about 200 ft | $1,010 – $1,185 | $1,255 – $1,480 |
Not sure if yours counts as steep? Leave it off your quote and we check it from your photos.
How to measure your roofline
You do not need a ladder or a tape measure. Search your address in Google Maps and switch to satellite view. Right-click one front corner of the roof and choose "Measure distance," then click the other front corner. The distance shows at the bottom of the screen. Add any garage or porch rooflines you want lit.
When you pay
You pay in three parts spread across the season, never all up front. For an average 100-foot home:
- Deposit, $155 – $180. It covers your lights and part of the labor, and it books your install date.
- At installation, $220 – $260. Half the labor, when your lights go up.
- At takedown, $220 – $260. The rest, after the holidays.
Nothing is due until we have confirmed your exact price and you have picked a date.
Ways to spend less
- Hang lights you already own. You pay for labor only, from $485.
- Light the roofline first. Trees and bushes are easy to add next year, and the lights you buy this year are yours to reuse.
- Keep the design simple. One clean line along the front roofline reads well from the street, especially on a two-story house.
Why timing matters here
Colorado Springs averages its first measurable snow on October 25 and its first freeze in early October, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo. Up on the Palmer Divide it comes sooner and heavier: the old Monument weather station averaged 15.9 inches of snow in November alone, per the Western Regional Climate Center. Booking early gives you more install dates to choose from, before the roof is icy.
If you live in an HOA, check its dates too. Banning Lewis Ranch allows holiday lighting from October 15 to January 31 without approval, Jackson Creek from the second week of November to January 15, and Gleneagle from after Thanksgiving to February 1. Put your HOA's dates in the note on your quote and we plan around them.
Is hiring out worth it?
Holiday decorating sends about 14,900 people to the emergency room each season, and nearly half of those injuries are falls, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. A professional install also covers the parts people forget: fixing a dark strand in December and taking everything down in January.
